I read in the newspaper today that someone I was close to in high school passed away this week.

We weren’t close in later years, but the thought that he’s no longer here is foreign to me.  For once, I’m at a loss for words.  So, for now, I offer my condolences to the family and will remember those things about him I admired:  His love of soundtracks, his ability to make a rue, his admiration for his Irish ancestry, his loyalty.  His sister was my closest friend growing up.  And the whole family liked to laugh.  I hope their memories of their loved one carry them through their loss.
